If there's one thing that hasn't really declined over the years, it's been the frequency and strength of the show's parodies. They have gotten a bit more obvious, however, which can mean the difference between a legendary joke and an episode high-light

Eric's personal favorite parody: a tie between the "School-House Rock" parody in "The Day The Violence Died" and the parody of "The Birds" in "A Streetcar Named Marge."

Jason's personal favorite parody: The "Indiana Jones" parody in "Bart's Friend Falls in Love"

To see Eric's hilariously out-of-date, short-sighted, and mostly incorrect take on the show's best parodies, visit his editorial on the Top 15 Parodies Ever!

Hands down the best episode ever for parodies was Season 4's "A Streetcar Named Marge". The play in the episode is a great send-up of "A Streetcar Named Desire", the baby break-out parodies "The Great Escape", the babies post break-out mimic "The Birds", and while Homer is in the audience he entertains himself just like a character in "Citizen Kane". The runner-up would probably be "Last Exit to Springfield", with its parodies of "Batman", "Yellow Submarine", and "The Grinch".
